Q: Are there tryouts consist of and when are they?
To qualify for the team, the swimmer must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle (front crawl) or backstroke (back crawl) without stopping.

Q: How often do the Sailfish practice?
A: Practices are in the evening Monday through Friday until school is out and then they are in the morning (Mon-Fri). Meets will be on once a week either on Saturday morning or on an evening. Go to www.lsssl.org to see the current meet schedule.

Q: What is the withdrawal policy?
A: The withdrawal policy is the same as for all types of parks and recreation classes. A swimmer must withdraw one week prior to the start date to receive a full refund. If a swimmer must withdraw due to a medical condition (e.g. broken bone) a refund will be given based on how many practices they must miss.

Q: What equipment or additional expenses are involved?
A: The required equipment is a swimsuit, towel, googles and a kickboard.  Optional equipment include a swim cap.  The Sailfish do have a team suit, cap and shirt.  We ask that every swimmer purchase a suit but the cap and shirt are optional. The only other additional fee is for the championship meet. Each swimmer will have to pay for each event entered. (I am not sure of the cost yet but last year it was $4 per event)

Q: Where can I buy swimsuits, goggles, etc?
A: There is a swimming store named Swim Freak at 2250 Thousand Oaks across from Triton Sports Club.  This is where you can buy the team suit and other swimming equipment. Their web site is www.swimfreak.com
